+**Art as Currency, currency as art:** The Gibling started in 2012 and is a community currency, similar to a regional currency. On the other hand, the Gibling is an art project on its own. Each year the banknotes are designed by a new artist. There is an art edition including a 1,2,5 and 500 note. In the interplay of art and currency the Gibling is building an own art collection.

+**The twelfth issue of Gibling** shows a series of portraits of undercover people and the deconstruction of their spaces. The images thematise excessive demands, isolation as well as the meaning of community in a society marked by individualism and alienation. The exhausted human being takes the place of historical or cultural representation on banknotes and thus becomes a landmark and symbol itself. In the ruins of a past order, questions arise about new forms of relationship and cohesion.

+years after the founding of the Gibling, the community currency is facing monetary reform!

+The 11th edition of the Gibling was designed this year by Franz XAVER as NFP. This means 'Non Fungible Picture' and non-interchangeable, unique pictures. As serial pictures, images of flames, clouds and water surfaces are the starting point for the 11th edition. Each picture is signed by the serial number and a checksum with the metatags of the next picture. In the process, every single 1, 2 and 5 note of the community currency becomes unique.
