STWST is at MEDIA MESS(e) in Nantes/F from 17-22 May. There, four European art and technology labs are working between intermedia art, DIY, DIWO and media activism.

APO33 from Nantes invited 3 other art and media associations to a joint Media Mess(e). The STWST New Art Context Department performed here with artist-hackers from European art and technology labs and collectives between intermedial art, DIY, DIWO and material activism. Several screens, several sound systems, different approaches to Media Mass to Critical Mess became a performance on the “current situation of the world”. The whole thing started with a performative ceremony of charging sense and sound and became a visual-spatial-sonal performance of Humans and Non-Humans at 4 stations in the space, who between walking, steel block, heat cameras, light triggers and many other sources and materials gradually raised a collective Sonic Mess over 2 hours.

MEDIA MESS(E) was performed by STWST collective in a practice of constant redefinition of art contexts. This is about artistic positions that dissolve into each other between sound, text, image and underground. Involved here: Tanja Brandmayr, Jan-Nahuel Jenny, Felix Vierlinger, taro.
