On the occasion of their current Lentos exhibition “Donau:Inseln”, Herwig Turk & Gebhard Sengmüller invite you to a live discussion on the topics of the Danube, islands, transformation and autonomy.

To the exhibition Danube:Islands: Industrial zone, local recreation area and sensitive ecosystem - the Danube is characterised by strong contrasts as an over-formed cultural landscape. Austrian artists Herwig Turk and Gebhard Sengmüller take this as the starting point for their artistic research, which can currently be seen in an exhibition at the Lentos Art Museum in Linz.

For years, local artists and scientists have also been exploring the Danube, its banks, the transformations and the entanglements of river and settlement area. These works will be visualised and discussed as part of the discussion. Futures, failures, experiments, concrete realisations and calls for a civil society to live with the Danube - much is present in the projects.

Initiatives and artists involved with the Danube will talk about their work on 23 April. STWST will be represented with 86 metres of Danube bank and the measuring ship Eleonore.
